Firekeep
Firekeep is a little physics bonfire you keep alive while doing other stuff.
Wood shows up near the fire on its own, twigs at first. No menus, you just drag them in. How you stack them matters because it's all physics, so a stack burns longer than a heap. If a corner is dying you can blow on it to keep the temperature up. Once a log has burnt through you can knock it apart and it collapses into the ember bed.
At the start the fire is needy and wants attention every few minutes. As you burn more you unlock heavier wood that lasts longer. The long-term idea of what the full version is aiming at is that the game eventually stops asking much of you at all and just sits there being warm while you do other things. The fire can't permanently die, leave it for a day and it settles into embers, and you blow on them when you're back. Fair warning: fire spreads by contact, if your pile sprawls out far enough to touch the wood lying around it, that wood goes too.
This is a small concept demo I made to find out if anyone besides me wants this. It has the first two fuel types and the basic interactions, maybe 15-20 minutes before you've seen everything. Things like coal, different wood types, weirder fuels (explosives, salts that recolor the flame), an auto-feeder, and a real desktop version that sits over your work instead of living in a browser tab, all of that only happens if this page shows me people actually want it.
The single best signal for that is joining the mailing list: lists.phasedarraystudios.com/subscription/form. That's what I'm actually watching to decide whether to keep building, more than views or likes, so if you played it and thought "yeah, I'd use a finished version of this," join up, that alone tells me what I need to know. "Launches only" is there if you just want to know when it ships and nothing else. Comments are still very welcome too, especially if something felt bad or boring, tell me that, it's genuinely useful.
Runs in the browser, sound on recommended.
